The kind of street that remembers you quieter than you arrived.
Why WOLTERMONGINSIDI, why now
Jalan Wolter Monginsidi is the current extension of the Senopati-Gunawarman dining strip, with a wave of 2026 openings. Design-forward cafe and cocktail-bar density on par with Senopati and Kemang.
1. Graha Bintara Art Shop
- No Jl. Wolter Monginsidi No.43 1, RT.1/RW.1, Rw. Bar., Kec. Kby. Baru, Kota Jakarta Selatan, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 12180
- 4.5 · 57 reviews · Art Gallery
The course opens at Graha Bintara Art Shop because the morning should start with browsing, not decisions. It's an art gallery and souvenir spot near the Santa Market bus stop, and the pace here lets you arrive slow. You can take two of anything or nothing at all. This sets the rhythm for a route that saves the noise for later.
Crew's note
The steps don't hurry anyone.
What visitors say
A cool hang-out spot in J-Town...
Great place to buy affordable souvenirs.
2. DND Bar
- Jl. Gunawarman Jl. Daksa I No.20, RT.4/RW.2, Selong, Kec. Kby. Baru, Kota Jakarta Selatan, Daerah Khusus Ibukota Jakarta 12110
- 4.9 · 149 reviews · Cocktail Bar
The course closes at DND Bar because the night needs a lid. It's a cocktail bar on an upper floor, and the crew planned this backward from here: a place that holds the radius, keeps the hum contained. You're off the main strip but still inside the new wave. The route ends where the sign stays lit after you've already gone.
Crew's note
The ceiling takes the noise. You can stop holding it.

The walk between
Between the art shop and the bar, you're moving through the same stretch of Wolter Monginsidi that pulled the Senopati crowd south. The street feels like an extension that hasn't decided if it's still new or already settled.
- Start at the art shop in the morning when the light is better for looking at batik and carved wood, then hold the bar for after dinner somewhere else on the strip.
- The bar works best as the closer, not a warm-up. If you're coming solo or as a pair, ask about seating before you settle in.
FAQ
- Does the art shop still carry the full range, or has it scaled down?
- One visitor noted that after a 2022 renovation, the shop moved within the same building but became much smaller, around a tenth of its original size. Wood carvings and pewter are less common now, but there's still enough for souvenirs you'd hand out.
- Does DND Bar enforce a minimum spend by seating type?
- At least one group reported that high chairs required a minimum of two drinks per person. If you're planning to nurse one cocktail, confirm the seating policy when you arrive.
